The award was presented during Life Care’s annual Directors of Nursing Meeting held at the company’s headquarters in Cleveland, Tennessee. It is given to the director of nursing in each of Life Care’s divisions who best demonstrates outstanding qualities in several areas, including customer service ratings, staff development and successful state surveys.
Under Demps’ clinical leadership, the facility has earned a five-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, as well as achieving high-performing state surveys.
Demps was praised for her commitment to performance improvement, her willingness to share her expertise with DONs from other Life Care buildings and her investment in helping her nursing staff to grow professionally. Her “Count on Me” initiative at Life Care Center of Sparta has helped staff to focus on the role each member plays in providing excellent customer service.
“Stacey is an invaluable asset,” said Marshal Huddleston, executive director. “Her leadership and drive have earned the support and respect of the greater Sparta community.”
Demps was selected for the award from all the directors of nursing in Life Care’s Eastern Division, which encompasses 39 facilities in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
“Stacey is a living example of what the honorable nursing profession is all about,” said Beecher Hunter, Life Care president. “She administers her God-given talents in a spirit of love and compassion to help make the lives of others better. We’re proud of her and all of our nursing award winners.”
Life Care honored seven other division winners and a Company-wide Director of Nursing of the Year, as well as a customer service winner.
